Hilliard Events Showcases Four Distinct Settings

Building 4

Building 4 is located in the old dye house of the woolen mill complex.  It was meticulously rebuilt and restored by the owners.  A labor of love, many original details were retained and reconstructed, while all systems necessary for the comfort of guests were modernized.  This is a venue that is steeped in history.  Its distinctive clerestory and original whitewashed ceilings are awe-inspiring.  The two handcrafted bars that feature in Building 4 utilize antique radiators original to the mill and reclaimed timbers from the 1800's buildings.  Building 4 boasts state-of-the-art amenities, including an advanced HVAC with patented air purification systems. The venue also features a dedicated workspace for caterers and a VIP room. With a capacity for 265 seated dinner guests and 570 for cocktail receptions, Building 4 offers a unique and memorable setting for any event.


The Steam Boiler Room

Located on the second floor of the Art Deco styled Building 1, the Steam Boiler Room is a captivating event space. This beautifully restored room boasts characteristic features of historic New England mills, including original hardwood floors, expansive windows, and soaring ceilings.  A thoughtfully curated display showcasing original steam related artifacts adorns the room, while an array of large windows floods the room with an abundance of natural light.  The Steam Boiler Room offers versatility and intimacy, accommodating up to 46 guests for seated dinners, 99 for cocktail receptions and performance seating. Its unique blend of historic charm and refined ambiance makes it an ideal setting for a variety of events.

The Penthouse

Situated on the third floor of Building 1, The Penthouse is a unique and versatile event space. This exceptional venue comprises three distinct rooms: a spacious studio event area, complete with a kitchenette, a private bathroom with a shower, as well as a separate ancillary room providing additional space. The Penthouse retains the historic charm of Building 1, featuring beautiful hardwood floors, expansive windows, and soaring ceilings. This elegant space is ideal for a variety of events, including bridal suites for large wedding parties, intimate gatherings, and executive retreats. With a capacity for up to 46 guests for seated dinners and 99 for cocktail receptions, The Penthouse offers a sophisticated and secluded ambiance, perfect for creating unforgettable experiences.
 

The Carding Mill (Anticipated Opening Summer of 2026)

Expanding the possibilities for unforgettable celebrations, Hilliard Events is pleased to announce the upcoming addition of a fourth venue, The Carding Mill, located in historic 1834 Greek Revival Building 6. Formally the old carding mill of the woolen mill complex, this venue will perfectly bridge the gap between the intimate Steam Boiler Room and the expansive Building 4.  The Carding Mill boasts the original post-and-beam timbers and stunning wood flooring, creating a unique and captivating ambiance. This versatile venue will be spacious but intimate, and ideal for mid-sized receptions.  It is anticipated to accommodate 110 for seated dinners and 240 people for cocktail receptions and performance seating. It will also serve as a perfect adjunct to larger weddings, providing an elegant space for indoor ceremonies or cocktail hours.
